Equinix continues its expansion in Singapore with the opening of its second International Business Exchange (IBX) data center here.

The $45 million first phase of the SG2 center will add 700 cabinets to Equinix's capacity in the Singapore market. The center will have a total capacity of 1,700 cabinets at full build out after the second phase of the center is completed.

Equinix's investment reinforces Singapore's position as a global IT hub and home for businesses seeking to expand in Asia. With Asia as a rapidly growing market for connectivity and data hosting, the opening of Equinix’s second data centre comes timely as more companies choose Singapore as their hosting location to leverage new growth opportunities in Asia.
