Leading Japanese games developer KOEI has announced its plans to expand its studio in Singapore. The Singapore studio currently has close to 50 staff, and will be hiring up to 60 more in the next two years. There will be opportunities for the new members to undergo training in KOEI's studio in Japan.
By building up a world-class talent base here, KOEI plans to use Singapore as a home to create exciting games for global markets. KOEI has been a pioneer and partner in the development of Singapore's games industry. The company achieved a significant milestone last year with the successful commercial launch of the made-in-Singapore massively multiplayer online role-playing game, the Romance of Three Kingdoms Online in Japan. The game is scheduled to be launched this year in other markets including China, Taiwan, Korea and Macau.
